I welcome clients who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning and need to talk about life in a place that is safe, honest, objective and non-judgmental. As a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT):
- I affirm my respect of human diversity, including gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.
- I affirm that same-sex sexual attractions, feelings, and behaviors are normal and positive variations of human sexuality regardless of sexual orientation identity.
- I affirm that being transgender or gender nonconforming (TGNC) are normal and positive variations of gender identities and gender expressions.
- I oppose the use of psychological interventions to change any person’s sexual orientation or gender identity, including efforts to change behaviors or gender expressions.
- I support psychological interventions that provide assistance to an individual undergoing a gender transition, or that provide acceptance, support, and understanding of clients’ coping, social support, and identity exploration and development.
I encourage you to bring your True Self into my practice to discuss safely and openly any concern that brings suffering into your life so that we can work to transmute your suffering into peace. Your presence is welcome here.
